One of my favorite books as a kid was The Seven Silly Eaters, by Mary Ann Hoberman. It was about a mom with seven kids who were all extremely picky about what they ate and in the end the kids bake a huge cake with all of their specific foods in it and they eat it as a family. I liked it because it made me laugh and my family felt really big and sometimes chaotic when I was growing up so I sort of related to the story. I think it would be hard to write a children's book because there's a lot of pressure to make it have a central theme or some type of important lesson at the end, and also because it would be difficult to come up with an idea that has never been taken.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid One of my favorite books besides Garfield is Curious George."Curious George is a sweet African monkey who can't help but run into trouble. George's friend, "The Man in the Yellow Hat," tries very hard to care for George and is always saving the day"
ReplyDeletewhy this was one of my favorite books is that the George is a funny character who likes to explore the world but always gets in trouble cause he always does something wrong.
I think it would be fun to write a kid's because you get to feel like a kid again, also making kids laugh from a book you made for them
the book i read during my childhood was a book called the three wolves and the big bad pig it is about these three wolves that were building three houses using different types of materials like bricks, concrete and steel but there was a big bad pig that tries to destroy the houses with a huffing and puffing but fails to do so after the three fail attempts of the three houses the pig decided to find a way to destroy the houses with a sledgehammer. after the attempt of the wolves building houses they decided to make a flower house filled the smell of fragrant flowers and then the pig finally realize what he did was wrong. but the pig and wolves live happily ever after by becoming friends. why this book is my favorite is because i kept this it for a long time and it just gives me joy to believe in having a happily ever after and to make close friends happy.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book during my childhood would have to be Aesop's Fables. It was a collection of short stories and I loved each one. There was the boy who cried wolf, one about a crow trying to get water on the bottom of a vase, a fox being smart about not getting near the lion, and many more. The one that stuck out to me the most was the story of a city mouse and a country mouse. City mouse invited country mouse to come to the city, but it was a mess and ended up being a disater as a cat chased them out of the city. In the end, the country mouse loved her home even more, and the city mouse relaxed with her- not going with the daily chaotic life style and decided to sit back and enjoy life. It stood out to me because of how the pictures were drawn and the colors that were used- I loved that as a kid. I feel like it would be hard to write a children's book- you have to make your story simple and short, and it's even better to have a meaning to go with it so the kids will learn something.
